April 22, 2015 - Three Months!

Three months.  Wow.  Three months has brought us a sweet and smiling (most of the time) little girl who prefers to be held only by her mommy.  We're working on that.  I have to go back to work next week and it breaks my heart to think about leaving you, but I know you'll be in good hands.  Nana, Papa, and Grandmama are all looking forward to spending time with you until school gets out in five weeks.

So at three months, Emily Anne, you are almost sleeping through the night.  We have a wake-up around 12:30 just to rewrap the swaddle and rock for a few minutes and then a feeding sometime around 2 or 3 am.  You usually wake up around 7 and we begin the day with a little time with Daddy after he comes home from dropping Jay off at school and before he heads out to work.  You have been taking a nice, long nap in the mornings which allows me to take a shower (yay!) and get dressed.  You have become fascinated with your hands and love looking at them and chewing on them.  You can roll over (tummy to back).  You smile, coo, and may be starting to giggle just a little after a good feeding.  Brother is the funniest person to you and you light up if you're awake when we pick him up in the afternoons.  You weigh almost 12 pounds and are still wearing 3 month size clothes.  We're all amazed at how "tiny" you are, but how much you look like your brother did at this age.  :)

The three of us spent our first week at home together for Spring Break.  Jay and EA did great.  It was my survival I was worried about, but I made it!

Three "boy" eggs.  Every morning.
I don't know how we are going to keep feeding him. . .

Thank goodness for indoor swimming at Splash.

EA even got in on the action.  All the muffled noise at the pool made for great napping.

April 11, 2015

We took our second trip to Peachtree City this weekend to celebrate Aunt Ev's birthday.
It's never too cold for swimming.  Just ask Jay and Winston.

Bacon?  Cake?  Yes, please.

Happy Easter!

April 5, 2015

The Easter Bunny definitely left some treats for these two.

It takes hard work to get hair to look that good.
I know she must be wondering what all the fuss is about this morning!

Sweet boys. . . captured during children's worship.

Jay was very proud of his first "hanging-down" tie like Daddy's.

FPC Easter Egg Hunt!

April 3, 2015

We began the kick-off to Easter weekend with an Easter Egg hunt at Jay's school today.  He was so excited to show off his baby sister to all of his classmates, and I was so excited to make it to a school function for him.  It's a little challenging, still, to make an event that has a definite start-time, but we managed to get there before all the fun ended!

Tonight will also go down as one of those moments that burns into your memory forever.  I sat down at the table to rest for a minute in the late afternoon flurry of laundry and dinner and crying baby, and Jay asked (from the couch that he was stretched out on watching tv) if supper was ready.  "No, Jay," I responded.  "Well, why are you sitting then?!" he asked.  Oh my. . . no rest for the weary!

Jay loves Mrs. Mays, Mrs. Chester, and Ms. Scott (GSU Student Teacher)!

At home from the Easter Egg hunt. . .  already enjoying a little playtime in the Exer-Saucer.  You are getting way too big, way too fast, EA!

Nope, it just doesn't get much cuter than this.

Two Months!

At two months, EA, we are starting to see a lot more of your smile!

March

March brings us a little more stability. . . Emily Anne is sleeping longer through the night with only one or two wake-ups to eat.  We are all getting a little more sleep because of it!  We've even started venturing back out into the world!  :)

Road Rally at FPC
Emily Anne enjoyed getting to see the races!

Dad and Jay squeezed in a little "boy time" to go see a baseball game.
It's the moments like this one that make it impossible for me to think about going back to work. . . -March 23
We also took our first trip with EA to Peachtree City in March.  Jay was able to bring Manny with him for being the student of the week.  So, while Sam was in New Orleans for work, Jay, EA, Manny, and I loaded up and headed out.  I only regret we did not get a picture of everyone with Nana and Papa at their house!

Never too cold.  Never too early.

We are enjoying dressing up this sweet little girl.  We made our first trip to church today for Palm Sunday.  - March 29
